First Phase on National Arbitration a success.
To Membership of Local 320:
We are extremely pleased to announce that the NPMHU has prevailed in the first phase of its National Arbitration against the Postal Service proposed closings and consolidations of 82 mail processing plants.
National Arbitrator Shyam Das has ruled that the National Postal Mail Handlers Union may now go forward in their Step 4 grievances challenging the Postal Service’s decision to close or consolidate approximately 82 facilities.
The hearing took place on April 6, 2015 brought forth by the NPMHU with the APWU as an intervenor.
National Arbitrator Shyam Das has ordered the parties to schedule a hearing on the merits of the NPMHU grievance.
We will provide additional information as it becomes available.
