Global Agreement clarification
On July 7, 2018, we signed an agreement to settle some cross-craft cases (not all cases) from September 2017 to June 1, 2018. We also agreed to a cross-craft grace period until September 15. Most cases are ONLY from January 1, 2018 until June 1, 2018. There were a few cases that were included going back to September 2017.
Let me make this CLEAR. Not all cross-craft cases were included in this global settlement. It only covers a 5-month period; again from January 1, 2018 until June 1, 2018. Most cross-craft cases are being paid at Step 1 or Step 2 of the grievance procedure. Some are still currently in the process of being paid.
Also, the cross-craft grievances for peak season 2016 Nov-Dec and peak season 2017 Nov-Dec are not included in this settlement and they do not include any cross-craft grievances from the GMF. Within the Global Agreement, management will convert 35 MHA employees and will take 10 transfers for a total of 45 employees. A lump sum amount of $250,000 will be paid to Mail Handlers.
We are currently working on an Arbitration payout for peak season 2016 grievance Nov-Dec. In a few weeks, we are going to start working on the $250,000 payout.
All employees that were employed at the West Valley during the above dates will be compensated for the $250,000 settlement.
A full explanation of all settlement agreements will be given at the Branch Meeting on Saturday, July 21st.
