Attention Mail Handlers
For your information, the National Postal Mail Handlers Union Local 320 has been constantly meeting with Local Management to discuss procedures implemented in case a Postal employee test positive to the Coronavirus. We have been on a daily informational telecom with Local Management to make sure our employees have the supplies they need (Gloves, Masks, Hand Sanitizer, Wipes, etc…) to stay safe. Please let us know if you do not have such supplies.
We have demanded that our employees are kept informed of the latest COVID-19 developments. All sections should be having meetings on a regular basis. Please let us know if management is not having stand-up meetings in your section.
The continuation of postal services is crucial to deliver essential items such as medicine, pension checks, online purchases, as well as other important notices and information. However, if you are sick or not feeling well or feel that your health or safety is at risk, stay home. We will figure out the type of leave to which you are entitled, and we will file the appropriate grievances, if necessary.
The Mail Handler Union wanted to have informational meetings in all sections and facilities with all of our Mail Handler employees but due to current circumstances and in an abundance of caution, we will be posting notices on a regular basis at the Union bulletin boards. However, there are many employees that have many questions and concerns.
I am making myself available to answer all of your questions. You can call me directly at my cell phone (623) 670-0314 or my email at email@example.com. If I do not answer, please leave a message and I will respond back to you ASAP. You can also contact Vice President Shawn Garey at (602) 697-8972 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can also contact any other officer in the Union or your Union Representative.
Lastly, please remember that we are in this together. We must be vigilant about how we conduct ourselves and our business, but we must remain as calm as possible during this difficult time. We will all get through this together. Please stay safe.
